Mountain Dew Haven - The Ingredients of Mountain Dew
Everyone loves Mountain Dew, or at least should, but what is in it? Well here we go...
The ingredient | What it does |
Carbonated Water | This is the main ingredient. It gives Mountain Dew it's consistency, but none of it's flavor. |
High Fructose Corn Syrup and/or Sugar | This gives Mountain Dew MUCH of it's flavor. Plus it helps to give you a large sugar buzz. |
Concentrated Orange Juice and other Natural Flavours | This is almost the rest of the flavor. The other natural flavors don't do much of anything. It just makes it sound all natural. |
Citric Acid | This is the rest of the taste. Citric Acid gives Mountain Dew its tangy zip! |
Sodium Benzoate | This is a chemical that preserves freshness. |
Caffeine | Duh. Go here for my Caffeine ONLY section. |
Sodium Citrate | I actually don't know what this is yet, but I'm working on it. |
Gum Arabic | This makes Mountain Dew a little less watery. It thickens it a little bit. |
Erythorbic Acid | This chemical preserves freshness |
Calcium Disodium EDTA | This chemical protects flavor. |
Brominated Vegetable Oil | This gives Mountain Dew a slight orangish tint. |
Yellow 5 | This gives Mountain Dew it's yellow color, and perhaps... |
This is the actual ingredients label.
